MARINE FACILITY SECURITY TRAINING
Overview:

Marine Transportation Security Regulations (MTSR) were enacted in 2004 by Transport Canada (TC) which has impacted some 472 port authorities, facilities and marine operators across Canada. These new regulations required Canadian ports and marina facilities to have their employees security trained to satisfy the new regulations. Three groups of employees include:
Marine Facility Security Officers (MFSO)
Personnel with Security Responsibilities (PWSR), and
Personnel without Security Responsibilities (PWOSR)
Commissionaires Nova Scotia:

We have fully trained and experienced instructors at our Dartmouth/ Burnside Training Facility to provide your company expert training and offer more in-depth training than any other Nova Scotia company. We can offer your employees PWSR and PWOSR courses to meet your needs and which satisfy the Transport Canada’s Marine Transport Security requirements for your marine facilities staff so that they may qualify to hold a Marine Transport Security Clearance (MTSC) pass for working at your facility.
Commissionaires Nova Scotia has been designated by the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires as the centre of excellence for Marine Facility Security Training. We have developed training courses to satisfy MTSRs for our Commissionaires. Indeed, all Commissionaires working at port facilities across the province have received such training. At our Commissionaires Training Atlantic Campus (CTAC) in Burnside, we now offer this opportunity to any marine operator in Nova Scotia to have their employees trained in this essential requirement mandated by Transport Canada.

CNS offers the PWSR as a one day course with the opportunity to have a “hands on” or practical segment on day 2.
CNS offers the ½ day PWOSR course as well.
CNS can tailor its program and price to meet your needs.
CNS offers very competitive rates.
Quotations for training can obtained from the CTAC administrator.
To obtain more information on these courses, contact our CTAC administrator,
434-0800 extension 225,
Monday-Friday between 8am and 4 pm.
We will tailor our courses to meet your requirements.
