This position is responsible for the operation of the Airport Security System, as well as the communications system.  Also responsible to record and escalate complaints and calls for assistance to dispatch patrols and the airport police unit.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Liaisons with and be responsive to the Shift IC regarding ongoing airport operations;

• Monitoring and utilizing the Ccure, Genetec and Ageis Systems;

• Reviewing archived CCTV footage for incidents and producing consequential reports;

• Dispatching airport police unit members when alarms are received from a checkpoint;

• Monitoring and appropriately responding to all activity on the CCTV and the Security System and conducting visual patrols;

• Maintaining Digital Video Recorders and manipulating the CCTV system and reporting all system problems;

• Carrying-out security system programming functions, as requested;

• Conducting Security Checks at the commencement of each shift and during reliefs;

• Checking for the proper operation of all doors at least once per shift, removing overrides as necessary and reporting of any non-functioning doors;

• Completing comprehensive incident reports and compiling daily Occurrence Logs;

• Checking alarms each shift and notifying parties when alarms are not working;

• Operating the Public Address / intercom / paging systems and making announcements as directed;

• Initiating Citiwatch advisories as required;

• Monitoring SOC telephones and radios and responding accordingly;

• Ensuring proper security procedures are followed and escalating non-compliance issues, as necessary;

• Monitoring and coordinating radio communications between different parties (including Fire Response, RCMP, etc), ensuring that the Radio Net Plan is followed and enforced at all times;

• Liaisons with HIAA ADM, IT and Security Providers, CATSA, CBSA, USCBP and other parties as needed for various activities;

• Provide Assistance to outside police and security agencies, as required;

• Keeping track of patrol and policing units and when a patrol is dispatched ensuring another patrol is sent to cover off the vacated patrol area; and,

• Other Security Operations Centre duties as assigned.

• 6 months previous HSIA (Halifax Stanfield International Airport experience) may be waived for suitable candidates with exceptional skill sets.
