Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
MANAGEMENT
Providing strategic oversight of the Operations Department of CNS
Ensuring the effective delivery of security services on a province wide basis
Providing strategic advice on CNS operational issues such as Marine Security, expansion of services offerings and overall operations
Ensuring the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures
Acting as a decision maker in the grievance procedure as defined in the Collective Agreements and the Policies and Procedures Manuals
Developing and managing the Departmental budget pertaining to Operations including those of the Districts
Ensuring training is being delivered allowing students to achieve the established and approved standards and full potential
Ensuring performance management targets are established and monitored for all Operations and Training staff members
Ensuring CNS is meeting/exceeding its obligations to maintain ISO certification
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
University degree, Staff College or an acceptable equivalent
Excellent leadership skills and comfortable being part of a senior leadership team
Superior communication skills (verbal and written)
Superior interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills including the ability to multi-task
Demonstrated ability in the management of a large, fast-paced organization where client satisfaction and professionalism is the key to success
Change management experience and willingness to initiate and implement change
Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment
Contract management and client relationship management
Well developed negotiating skills including an ability to reach compromises as appropriate
Understanding of budget management, human resources management and a demonstrated ability to understand and implement legislation and regulations
Experience in project management and delivering results within defined parameters
Proficient in software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
