Duties and Responsibilities

(As this is a newly established position, the duties and responsibilities for this position are currently under review)

Due to the nature of this assignment, it is imperative that the Cpl Shift Supervisor maintains a high standard of performance.  The incumbent must present a professional image, including dress, deportment, and remain impartial, firm, but polite in all dealings with employees, client stakeholders and the visiting public.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • The Supervisor is responsible for the provision of Cmre services within the MHOSC which include;

  • Supervision of Cmres employed in the MHOSC at the Main Entrance;

  • Prepare documentation and process passes required for the facility;

  • Control, issue and administration of all MHOSC special area passes;

  • Coordinate all pass requirements for special events, conferences, etc;

  • Ensure contractors escorts  are provided at all times;

  • Provide relief to Cmre Posts for meals and personal breaks;

  • Training and supervision of Cmres employed as Rovers and Front Desk personnel as well as Contractor escort duties;

  • Maintain a computerized data base (a master locator list) which includes bldg and pass issued;

  • Ensure that the Intrusion Alarms and camera systems are functioning properly and are continuously monitored;

  • Responsible for ordering and protection of all consumables for Commissionaires; and

  • Cmre administrative duties such as pay, leave, sick days, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must possess the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated solid verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and multitasking skills

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of Commissionaire Policies and Procedures Manual

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Demonstrated excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook Express, Word, Excel and database management

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Level II security clearance; and

  • Successful completion of Commissionaire Shift Leader or Supervisor course considered an asset.
