Working Hours 0800 - 1600 hrs Monday to Friday with some overtime required

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing, interpreting and controlling CNS’ accounting and financial records

  • Leading the senior management team in developing and managing the organization’s annual budget and year end financial audit information

  • Providing monthly and annual financial analyses and reporting of CNS’ expenditures and forecasts

  • Evaluating and improving financial processes

  • Reviewing and managing CNS’ cash flow and ensuring receipts/invoices are processed to optimize cash flow

  • As part of the senior leadership team, participating in CNS’ business planning processes

  • Coaching and mentoring staff with respect to performance management, training and development

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

The incumbent must possess the following skills, experiences and attributes:

  • Bachelors of Commerce or Business Administration with an accounting designation, preferably CA, CGA or CMA

  • Five years appropriate financial management experience, including two years in a leadership role

  • Demonstrated experience with a medium to large payroll and labour management issues

  • Superior attention to detail and an ability to multi-task

  • Superior computer skills and aptitude in accounting software and other software such as MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills complemented by active listening skills

  • Demonstrated professionalism and sound judgment

  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated experience in project management

  • Willing to initiate change and demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment

  • Military and/or police experience is considered an asset
