Chair
Colonel J.B. Boileau, CD, BA, RCDS
Col Boileau joined the Board in 1999 and was elected Chairmain September 2008 for a two year term. He served in the Army for 37 years and held a number of appointments in Canada and overseas, including the first Chief of Staff of Land Force Atlantic Area in 1992 and Army Advisor, Canadian Defence Liaison Staff, London, Eng. He is a Director of the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, as well as the author of seven historical non-fiction books and numerous magazine and newspaper articles.
Vice Chair
Colonel R. Barry Wark, OMM, CD, B.Sc
Col Wark served 37 years in the Regular and Reserve Army components of the Canadian Forces. He commanded 1 Nova Scotia Highlanders (N), Nova Scotia Militia District and stood up 36 Brigade Group. He retired as the human resources manager at Neenah Paper Nova Scotia in 2007 and has been a Board member since 1997.

Brigadier General P.D. Lloyd, CD
BGen Lloyd joined the Board in 1995, retiring after 44 years of service to Canada including more than 39 years of service to the Canadian Forces. He currently serves on Commissionaires divisional and National Board committees and as Honorary Colonel of the Princess Louise Fusiliers
Secretary
Assistant Commissioner D.L. Bishop, OOM, B.Comm, LLB, DCL
Asst. Commr Bishop joined the Board in 2001. He retired from the RCMP in 2003 after serving 34 years, the last seven years as the Commanding Officer for Nova Scotia (‘H’ Division). Currently, he serves as the Ombudsman for the Province of Nova Scotia.

Lieutenant Colonel C.R.G. Davis, CD, MA, MBA
LCol Davis joined the Board in 2004. He has broad experience in xecutive management and leadership acquired over a 37 year career in the Canadian Forces and more recently as a management consultant on contract to the programme management office of the Maritime Helicopter Project
Commander R.H. Oland, CD
Cdr Oland follows in the footsteps of his father, Commodore Bruce S. Oland, uncle, Brigadier Hon Victor deB Oland and grandfather, Colonel S.C. Oland, founder of the Commissionaires in Nova Scotia, as a Governor of CNS. Elected to the Board in 1995, Cdr Oland is currently the Commanding Officer of HMCS Scotian and former Commanding Officer of HMCS Goose Bay.
Major R. Orlando, CD, M.Eng., P.Eng.
Maj Orlando joined the RCAF in 1962 and served 23 years as a military engineer. Since retirement in 1985, he has held positions in hospital administration, information technology sales and financial services management. He is currently employed by Defence Construction Canada, but is seconded to DND as a project manager and program support officer. He joined the Board of Governors in 1996.

Lieutentant Colonel J.C. Addicott, CD
LCol Addicott, the newest Board member, was elected a Governor in 2007. She served three years in the Canadian Forces Regular Force and 28 years in the Reserves, retiring in 2007. Her appointments included Commanding Officer 35 (Service) Battalion, Commander Sydney Garrison and 36 Combat Brigade HQ contingency planning officer for PEI and CapeBreton.
Colonel C.R. Baxter, Jr., CD
Col Baxter is a former RCAF pilot who accumulated more than 10,000 flying hours. He has extensive business experience and has served on the Board since 1986. He is a past president of the Dartmouth Chamber of Commerce, Air Cadet League, Canadian Association of Equipment Distributors and Air Reserve Association.
Chief Superintendent T.W. Bennett, BPS
CSupt Bennett joined the Board in 2006. He served with the RCMP for 37 years in a number of positions across Canada, including criminal operations officer in Nova Scotia and other operational and administrative positions in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador. Since retiring in 2009, he has continued to work in law enforcement including assisting the government of Antigua and Barbuda in modernizing their police force and developing their competency to fight criminal activity.
Colonel G.P. Curtis, CD
Col Curtis, a Board member since 2006, had served in the Land Force Reserve since 1964 including Commanding Officer 2 Bn Nova Scotia Highlanders (Cape Breton) and the Commander Cape Breton Militia District. Before retiring in 2008 Col Curtis was employed in the G1 Cell HQ Land Forces Atlantic Area. His civilian sales and marketing career spanned 30 years in the telecommunication industry and currently serves as volunteer chairperson of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax Pastoral Council.
Brigadier General J.J. Grant, CMM, CD
BGen Grant joined the Board in 1986 and has served in various capacities with NS Division and nationally. He has more than 50 years service with the Canadian Forces, commanding 1 Nova Scotia Highlanders (N), Western NS Militia District, Atlantic Militia Area, and has served as Chief of Staff Reserves at Mobile Command HQ, and on Reserve Council at NDHQ. He has served on a number of boards including Industrial Estates NS, Camp Hill/The Infirmary and Defence Construction Canada.
Commander M.A. Hickey, CD, LLB, QC
Cdr Hickey, a former Commanding Officer of HMCS Scotian and naval reservist for 35 years, joined the Board in 1996. As a partner at McInnes Cooper, Halifax Cdr Hickey practices litigation and administrative law, particularly in the field of regulation of the professions. She is also an officer with the NS Barristers’ Society.
Colonel I.D.C. Macintyre, CD, BA, B.Ed, BSW
Col Macintyre joined the Board in 2005, following 33 years of service with the Army Reserve and 38 years in adult education. He currently serves as Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of 2nd Battalion, The Nova Scotia Highlanders (Cape Breton) and is co-partner of Solus Education & Training Services (SETS).
Vice Admiral D.E.Miller, CMM, MSC, CD
VAdm Miller joined the Board in 2004. His 38 years of service in the Navy before retirement in 2003 included head of Canada’s East Coast Navy/Maritime Forces Atlantic (1997-2000) and NATO Chief of Staff/Deputy to the Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic/Transformation (2000- 2003). VAdm Miller is Chair of the Canadian Naval Memorial Trust which maintains/operates Canada’s Naval Memorial, HMCS Sackville; active in numerous community associations and an avid musician and actor.
Lieutenant Colonel J.W. Miller, CD, DDS
A Board member since 1994, LCol Miller has had a long association with the Militia and rose to Commanding Officer of the Princess Louise Fusiliers.He currently practices dentistry in Dartmouth and is a member of the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia.
